Get Your Boots Dirty: The Importance of Being On Site and How to Get There - An Emerging Professional Event

  • Virtual Event Portland, OR, 97204 United States (map)

Being onsite is a vital part of project management, but for some designers and architects it can be difficult to navigate. Time on a site requires a variety of soft and hard skills, from the design team and coordination with the construction team. These aren’t always easy to accomplish. More importantly, how do you ensure you’re the one to make that trip? How do you convince a client it’s an important step in the process?

This presentation will discuss the importance of a design team member being onsite during construction and how to help prepare for such a visit.

 Key Takeaways:

  • Why is it important for designers and architects to be on site?

  • How to mentally, physically, and professionally prepare for your time on site.

  • What should be done before, during, and after a site visit.
